Life in Oklahoma

Ireally love living in Oklahoma. I can honestly say that this is such a beautiful state to live in. Don’t get me wrong I do miss northwest, and it’s just as beautiful. There’s just something about Oklahoma that intrigues me.
For those that know me know that I’m a homebody. I love to be home, watching movies, reading, working on projects, and so on. If there’s something to do and a place to go that I find interesting then of course I’ll go.
One of my favorite places to go here in Oklahoma is the Wildlife Refugee, Mount Scott, The Holy City, and Medicine Park. These places are intertwined with one another. You pass through one to get to another. If you go to the top of Mount Scott you can see a beautiful view of the other surrounding locations.

Being able to go out here and enjoy nature and soak in the beauty of everything is not only a blessing but it is quite relaxing. With so much weighing on me at the moment, this is the one thing that can take all stress away. Even if it just for the day.
Meers may look run downed but it’s not. On the inside it’s quite lovely. It looks and feels like an old time western restaurant. The food there is amazing and the portions are huge for their prices. The staff is also very polite and it just has a nice atmosphere and vibe to it.
Whenever I go to Mount Scott, I feel completely at peace up there. I like to go and sit and just stare off and think. I thank Allah (swt) for all my blessings and it’s the perfect place to make salaah. I’ve taken my travel rug up there plenty of times for when it’s time to pray. The kindness that others have given me is amazing. When some people see me taking my rug out for prayer, some have told others in their party to be quiet because I was praying, some have made sure their kids didn’t disturb me that were running around. I’ve even had a little girl maybe about three or four years old pray with me. Masha’Allah was the cutest thing ever.

If you ever get the opportunity to make your way through southwest Oklahoma, please stop by and check out these places. I promise you that you will not be disappointed not one bit.
