Mother's Day
1:47 PM
So Mother's Day is just two days away. I'm very blessed to have the opportunity to have someone call me mom. At a very young age I had health problems. I was always in and out of the clinics and hospitals. Blood drawn for tests, and X-rays every week, and lots of medications.
In my teens I was told the chances of me getting pregnant was slim and if I were to get pregnant, carrying full term wouldn't be likely. Well what do ya know, I'm a momma, and for 18 years now too. I love this young man more than anything. He's my heart and soul. We've been through so much, and overcame so many boundaries, asthma, autism, selective mutism, and more. Through thick and thin I stood by his side and gave him the full support he deserves, when others doubted him.
I am far from being a "perfect" parent, but it's all about survival and doing what's right for your children. He says that he's learned so much from me over the years, but really it was I that have learned a lot from him. One thing that he's told me is that Mother's Day isn't just one specific day, that it's everyday.
Me: "Did you forget that Mother's Day is coming up?"
Bubba: " Did you forget that Mother's Day is everyday?"
He's always questioning that, if moms and dads work so hard all year round, then how come it's only recognized once a year? Man he's a smart and loving cookie.
MY LOVING MUTI
I would like to wish my Muti a wonderful and happy Mother's Day. I love her so very much. Not a day goes by that I do t think about her or miss her. We talk on the phone quite often but sometimes I don't think that's enough. Through everything good, and bad she's stood by my side with no questions asked. We've had our ups and downs but they're lessons learned. I wouldn't trade her for anything. She's priceless to me. I have so many wonderful memories of us over the years. Things that I hope will stay with me forever. Trips to the waterfront with the kids (dogs), bus rides to Seattle and having lunch, and going shopping, our vacation to California, and so on. So muti if your reading this, thank you for always being there. I love you always through thick and thin. Oh, and no I'm not talking about my weight either lol.
MY PRECIOUS OMA
I love her very much. She's my best friend. I've learned a lot from her over the years. Every chance I got to go see her and spend time with her, I would take it. Though I've got my cooking skills from my muti, it was my Oma that taught me everything I need to know about baking. There wasn't a time that I was there and we weren't baking something, banana nut bread, zucchini bread, and all kinds of cookies.
My favorite part about spending time with her, is our tea time. Not one visit did we not have our special tea time. She would get out her special tea set, cookies, and have a nice little chat. After that we would go to the living room and watch an oldie such as, State Fair, Oklahoma, or a Shirley Temple movie. It all depends on what we were in the mood for. I would lay out on the floor, and her in her recliner with her search a word. I loved the picnics at the beach with the family, and cuddling up with her, oh you know, just because. All I ever wanted in life was to keep her safe, to love and protect her. So Oma if you ever get to see this, not a day goes by I don't think of you, miss you, and love you!
(Sorry if the pictures are a bit blurry)
