Happy Thanksgiving {2013}

3:30 AM

Good morning and happy turkey day everyone.  It's Thanksgiving morning and I'm up writing this for you, well getting it started that is.  Why does everyone seem to only be thankful on this day?   I just don't get it.  You should be thankful everyday for many of reasons, one being that you had woken up.   On Facebook, people started weeks ago posting everyday and then stating what they are thankful for.  Example; "Day 10 - I'm thankful for my children and all that they do."  So what you are really saying is that every other day, you don't care and are disappointed or something?  I don't get it.   I am thankful for everything that comes my way, from the people I meet and the things that I am able to do, and most importantly being able to wake up every morning.  Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

First off I would like to say sorry for not having any pictures to share.  Momma and I got busy with supper and totally forgot to take pictures.  I really had a nice time while visiting my muti and oma.  I'm just sad that it was such a short visit.  I wish I could of stayed longer to spend more time with them both but my mom especially.

For Thanksgiving we had all the fixing but instead of a turkey we had cornish hens.  OMG food was amazing. So glad that I was able to fix a menu that my oma could also eat and enjoy.

I ended up leaving the day after Thanksgiving and let me tell you, never again will I do that trip like that again.  Well at least not by myself anyway.  I left Friday (11/29/13) at 8:30am and I got home on Sunday (12/01/13) at 11:30pm.  The drive was absolutely crazy.  What made it worst was that I have severe night blindness and couldn't see jack crap.  So as soon as it got dark, I had to pull over, which sucked because it was dark by around 5pm which meant that I was a rest stop from then until the sun came up the next morning.  It was a little scary because I was by myself, in the middle of nowhere, with no cell phone and best believe it was cold as ever.

While driving there was two accidents and I was almost in one.  So to the truck driver that cut me off, I thank you, my son thanks you and I'm sure there are others that thank you too.  I was driving behind a huge truck and was going to go around it, then it cut me off and then I heard it.  A huge thud, and the truck hit a freakin dear.  I could of been the one to hit the dear, and sure would of been some damage to the car as well as me.  I could of been seriously hurt if not dead.  So again, I thank you truck driver.  Another incident was the high way patrol was guiding us to slow down and as we got closer, there was a pickup truck that was totaled and a mans body on the side of the road covered, waiting for the ambulance or what not to come get him.  Was really sad site to see.  Lastly another time, I was driving and going down a hill, I had to bare right and another car was baring left.  Soon the car going left hit something, a truck I'm sure, and there was smoke, and stuff went flying everywhere.  What got me with that one, was that I seen a car seat go flying.  I will never know if there was a child in it or not, but the thought alone had me in tears for about two hours.  All kinds of thoughts were going through my head at that time.  All I could do was pray for everyone involved.

As I got closer to home, it was getting dark and I refused to pull over. I did the best that I could with staying safe not only for myself but for others on the road.  As I said before, my eye sight is not good while driving at night.  The roads was lit pretty well by lights of so many other vehicles and for that helped me quite a bit.  What really sucked was as soon as I got into Oklahoma, there was massive fog.  It was so thick, I couldn't see anything. I couldn't even see any signs to pull over off the road in hopes that it would let up a bit.  Well it didn't but I just did my best and followed the larger vehicles to help guide me through it and with lots of prayers, I eventually made it.

So I'm definitely glad that I was able to go see my family and also glad that I was able to see one of my cousins, all of which I haven't seen in years.  So that is basically how I spent my Thanksgiving break.  I hope that everyone else has had a great time with all their loved ones and great food.
